We are well versed in production operations, including engineering and optimization. We have experienced field production contractors that can be utilized for well production start-ups and facility commissioning.
Another underlying, but important technical service DHECL is able to bring to the client is the Reservoir Engineering function, which can be very beneficial in determining full scale field development plans, reserves recovery optimization, or just to analyze a well test – “a little extra science can positively impact project economics”.

We have experienced and competent field supervisors to direct and oversee the operational disciplines covered by DHECL – construction, drilling, completions, workovers, abandonments, initial cleanup, and production engineering operations. Our field supervisors are adept at adhering to or exceeding the “Good Oilfield Practice” standard, and performing their duties in accordance with all applicable regulatory, legislative, and environmental laws/standards.

Mike Williamson - P. Eng President
Mike is a professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in oil and gas development - Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and Siberia, Russia. Mike has worked in oil and gas development in both technical and managerial capacities, including conventional & unconventional operations.
Mike completed 9 years of industry employment with various oil companies, after which, he has been self employed as an owner-operated oil and gas consulting company for 20+ years. Mike is specialized in horizontal multi-stage drilling and completion operations, having successfully managed more than 10 different geological horizons.

Brandon Miller - BSc Vice President and General Manager
Brandon began his career in the oil and gas industry in 2011. Prior to joining Dark Horse Energy Consultants Ltd, Brandon’s last role was Drilling Foreman with an active industry producer. His drilling experience covers drilling both horizontal and vertical Viking, Cardium, and Montney wells.
Brandon’s responsibilities will include, Drilling and Completions technical and operational support, Drilling and Completions Supervisor coordination, and Business Development.
- Graduate of the University of Notre Dame de Namur (Belmont, CA) with a BSc degree in Kinesiology Pre-Med
- After playing NCAA collegiate lacrosse, Brandon still likes to stay active in sports from participating in various local hockey leagues in the winter, and playing golf, tennis, and baseball in the summer
Dale Miller - P. Eng Executive Vice President
Dale is a professional engineer with over 35 years of WCSB experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry (Alberta, Sask, BC). He has experience at the Senior Management level with both public and privately held E&P Companies.
Dale has extensive knowledge in all facets of the energy business from a foundation of 5+ years of field engineering experience, to planning and executing the strategic and economic development of oil and gas assets.

Ken Pyo - P. Eng Reservoir Engineering Advisor
Ken is a professional engineer with 40 years of experience in oil and gas development - Western Canada, USA, Middle East (Libya & Yemen) and UK North Sea.
Ken has worked on many aspects of oil and gas development in both technical and managerial capacities, including conventional & unconventional reservoir evaluation, secondary & tertiary enhanced oil recovery, conventional heavy and ultra-heavy oil development, dynamic reservoir modeling, formation evaluation, well testing design & analysis, production engineering, well stimulation, economic evaluation, asset acquisition & divestment, company reserves and budget, project management, etc. Ken is specialized in integrated reservoir evaluations with his in-depth knowledge in various disciplines within petroleum engineering and formation evaluation.
